Our Programs

Come and be a part of the Upper Humber Rod and Gun Association, where an array of programs and services awaits our members and the local community. Our association is dedicated to promoting outdoor leisure pursuits, including hunting, fishing, and shooting sports. Here’s a glimpse of the offerings we provide.

Sight In Days

The club assists hunters to sight in their firearms prior to the upcoming hunting season.  This will help your marksmanship skills ensuring proper shot placement and hopefully a more successful hunting season with no losses or wounded animals escaping.  This will also alert you of any firearms or equipment issues giving you time to correct any troubles prior to the hunting season.

Trap Shooting

All are welcome to attend and bring along your interested guest shooters or spectators. Please bring along hearing protection if you are a spectator. Someone will be there as a Range safety Officer to give safety guidance.
Shot sizes are limited to target loads of # 7.5 and # 8. The most popular shotgun gauges are 12 and 20.
Please be sure to bring along your own ammo for a fun and exciting evening of trap shooting activity. The cost of a round of trap (25) is still at $5.00 until further notice.

Youth Outdoor Skills Day

Our annual Youth Outdoor Skills Day, in partnership with the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture offers a fantastic chance to engage youth in wildlife conservation and responsible hunting and angling. Activities include immersive experiences in wildlife conservation, firearm safety, rifle and shotgun fundamentals, archery, outdoor survival skills, orienteering, wildlife identification, and even fly-fishing techniques. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to foster a love for the great outdoors and responsible outdoor activities in the younger generation.
